Our Training

At Citizens Advice Cardiff & Vale, we are now offering a wide range of In-house and Open Courses, including Welfare Benefits, Debt, Housing, Financial Capability, Mental Health Awareness, Suicide Awareness and Casework to other organisations.

Current clients include the Welsh Assembly, Cardiff City Council, Caerphilly Council, the Vale of Glamorgan Council, Taff Housing, the Pobl Group and Wales & West Housing Association.

In-house Courses

We offer in-house courses, for up to 20 participants, at very competitive rates and with discounts offered for organisations booking 3 or more courses.
The course fee includes the delivery of the course, course materials and post-course support (by email and/or telephone) for 12 months.

Online Courses

We are currently offering a series of on-line training courses via Zoom. These sessions last 90 minutes and will focus on Welfare Benefits and Housing Law.

All courses are £30 per person per course and further details can be accessed below:


PIP (Part 1) - An Introduction to PIP

This course is the 1st of a 3-part course and serves as an introduction to understand PIP.

PIP (Part 2) - How to Claim PIP

This is the 2nd of the 3 PIP courses and follows Part 1, it examines the application process.

PIP (Part 3) - The PIP Assessment

This is the 3rd of the 3 PIP courses and examines how applicants are assessed and scored.

Natural Migration to Universal Credit

This course clarifies when a change of circumstances forces someone to migrate from legacy benefits to UC.

Benefits for Older People (Part 1)

This is the 1st of a  2-part course which examines the benefit system and identifies the main benefits for those of State Pension Age.

Benefits for Older People (Part 2)

The 2nd part of the course which examines the benefit system for people of State Pension Age.

Housing Law in Wales - An Overview

This course examines the current Housing Law as it applies to Wales.
