Generalist Advice

A face to face, telephone, webchat and email generalist advice service run from Barry and outreach premises in the Vale of Glamorgan and Cardiff. Is funded by both local authorities. Our service delivers detailed and specific advice on the issue(s) affecting our clients. It may include assisting in completion of forms or drafting of correspondence, providing sample letters or other self-help material and guidance, one-off negotiations on the client’s behalf (and with appropriate authorisation). We also cover a small amount of casework activity such as ongoing correspondence and negotiation with third parties. Whenever clients require specialist help we refer them to appropriate specialist providers and services, both internally and externally.

Money Talks

Our money adviser offers face to face sessions providing guidance and information in budgeting, savings/investments, insurance, borrowing, pensions, retirement planning, tax and welfare benefits. We provide the service across Cardiff, the Vale and Bridgend. It was funded originally by MAS and now by Welsh Government.

Pension Wise

We are providing pensions guidance across Wales, along with Citizens Advice Caerphilly and Citizens Advice Ynys Mon. This service is funded by DWP.

Energy Best Deal

We receive funding to deliver energy best deal sessions across Cardiff and the Vale. Funding comes via energy companies and Citizens Advice.

Communities First

We are providing pensions guidance across Wales, along with Citizens Advice Caerphilly and Citizens Advice Ynys Mon. This service is funded by DWP.

Training & Consultancy

We offer bespoke training in Debt, Welfare Benefits, Housing, Family, Employment & Financial Capability, which are run by specialists on these subjects.

Integrated Digital Money Advice

Based in Barry, the IDMA project delivers specialist debt advice via webchat. We do this in partnership with Citizen Advice Torfaen. It is funded by Money Advice Service.

Motor Neuron Disease Project (MND)

We provide a welfare benefits advice on behalf of the Motor Neuron Disease Association in England and Wales. We have four delivery channels: telephone, email, webchat and home visits.

Money Advice Service Debt Advice Project

This is a debt advice service initially funded by BIS but changed to Money Advice Service in July 2011.  The service provides a specialist debt service by referral across Cardiff and the Vale.

Consumer Service

Call Centre service based in our offices in Barry which provides advice in Consumer matters. This project is funded by Citizens Advice.

Better Advice: Better Lives (BABL)

We provide advice and casework to clients who have been referred from healthcare professionals. The service includes visits in healthcare settings and clients’ homes around Cardiff and The Vale.  It is a project funded by Welsh Government.
